Tiffany Spithas: Owner & Artistic Director of Impact & DanceWorx
TIFFANY is a graduate of James Madison University where she received a B.F.A. in Dance. Tiffany has performed with the Montgomery College Dance Co., D.C. Dance Collective, The Virginia Repertory Dance Co. and The LA Contemporary Dance Company. Tiffany was the coach at Quince Orchard High School in 2011/12 when the squad placed 2nd in County Competitions. She has taught for several studios around the area and schools such as James Madison University. Tiffany is enjoying her sixth year as the Owner/Director of Impact Performing Arts and Artistic Director for DanceWorx, four Competition Companies at Impact.
Nicholas Spithas: Owner, Instructor & Front Desk
NICK began dancing at the age of 4, mimicking the moves of Michael Jackson. The rest is history. His ability to pop, snap, & slide had viewers like former director of IMPACT, Jason Anderson, exclaim “I can’t even move like that!” A graduate of the University of Maryland (Philosophy & Economics); he and Tiffany Workman, humbly took over as the new owners of Impact Performing Arts in July of 2013. In August of 2013, he began teaching a boys Hip Hop class for ages 6-10.
Giavanna Hershey: Instructor & DanceWorx Assistant Coach
GIAVANNA is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BFA in Dance. While in school she worked with choreographers such as B.J. Sullivan (creator of the Release Modern Technique), Jan Van Dyke (Co-Founder of Dance Place), John Gamble and Gerri Houllihan. Since graduating, Giavanna has been teaching Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Poms at several studios and private schools in the DC Metro Area. She has performed and choreographed for dance companies such as: FloydProject and Full Circle Dance Company.
Samantha Poto: Instructor
SAMANTHA grew up in Montgomery County and began dancing when she was 5 years old. She studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and tap. She was a part of many competitive dance teams in the D.C. Metro area. She was a member and captain of the Varsity Poms squad while attending Wootton High School. Upon graduation, she went to Hofstra University where she studied early childhood education and continued her love for dance by joining the dance team. Sam loves watching your children grow each week and appreciates their excitement and motivation to keep learning and dancing!
Heather Grimm: Instructor
HEATHER was born and raised in Frederick, MD and began dancing at age 3. After countless competitions and summer musicals, she enrolled at East Carolina University in the Theater and Dance Department. After her sophomore year, she transferred to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and received her Bachelors in Ballet Performance. While dancing she was able to train with Gus Giordano, Mia Michaels, Scott Jovovich, Roni Koresh, Kim Bears-Bailey and countless others. Since graduating, Heather has taught at multiple schools in the area and has dancers that have gone on to dance or train with several professional companies.
Megan Carter: Instructor
Megan Carter from Leesburg, VA. attended Montgomery College in Rockville, MD as a Dance Major and is choreographing for many events. showcase and competitions. She specializes in Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, acrobatics and contortion. She has appeared on “So You Think You Can Dance” season 7 and was voted the Best Over All Female dancer for SYTYCD” New York and Miami Auditions. Megan has been chosen to dance at many events throughout the years such as Choreographer showcase called “ Phases of Love” in Atlanta, GA to name one. Also, she was the choreographer of a video for an artist Produced by Chip Days. She teaches at her home Studio and does many outside choreography for other companies and studios in the Northern Virginia and Maryland areas. Her choreography has won many awards and she’s had top scoring performances all while inspiring those around her. Megan has performed in many opening numbers at the Coffee House Productions, Disney World, showcase performances in Branson Missouri, San Antonio Texas, Myrtle Beach, Las Vegas, New Orleans, LA and Royal Caribbean Cruise line. Megan has also performed with the Manhattan Performing Arts Collective International Dance Festival in New York and Broadway at Tropea in Italy directed by Michele Assaf, Terry Beeman, Bruno Collinet, & Jessica Hendricks . She has worked with and been assistant teacher to AC Ciulla at the “Pulse” & “New York City Dance Alliance” Jason Parsons “New York City Dance Alliance” , Pamela Bolling in Orlando Florida, Travis Wall “NUVO”, the late Frank Hatchett, Sheila Barker, Ray Leaper, Lisa Allain and the Late Gus Giordano “Broadway Dance Center”.
Lisa Irvine: Instructor
Lisa Irvine is so excited to work with the dancers at Impact Performing Arts this fall. She originally hails from horse country and grew up between the barre and the barn showing horses on the weekends and dancing during the week at Russell School of Ballet in Centerville as well as In Motion in Warrenton Va. At 10 she auditioned for a School of American Ballet summer intensive and decided NY City was where she needed to be and moved in with friends of her family and then into the dorms. She went on to spend 6 years with SAB before moving on to Pacific North West Ballet where she danced in the corps and as a demi-soloist with their touring company. After leaving PNB she attended the University of North Carolina @Greensboro’s BFA program as well as Minored in Human Development and Communications. Sadly after a horseback accident, her return to the stage was questionable and during the recovery process she went back and received her AA in Early Childhood Education Pre-K-5th grade. While working in Georgetown she found local community theater and realized she was not only able to dance but she fell back in love with choreography and teaching. She has taught at local DC, NoVa, Md, and Pennsylvania studios as well as judged in Arizona, California, Texas, Ohio, and Illinois. For the past 2 years she has focused her time on studying for her certification in Progressing Ballet Technique, working at a local studio, attending Finis Jhungs 2017 teacher training, Suki Schorers 2018 Balenchine Aesthetic training, and traveling to competitions and conventions as both faculty and student.
Jamie Solomon: Instructor
Jamie Solomon is a recent graduate from the College of Charleston where she received a B.A. in Dance. She grew up in Montgomery County where she began her training to become a professional dancer at the age of 3. She has since studied a variety of genres including modern, contemporary, ballet, hip-hop, and jazz. She has taken accredited master classes with Netherland Danse Theater and Bill T. Jones. Since graduating in May, Jamie has been pursuing performance opportunities as well as instructing at several studios. Jamie is currently a key dancer with the Dance ICONS Choreographic Institute in Washington D.C and freelances in the DMV area.
Joshua Davis: Instructor
JOSHUA has been a professional dancer and choreographer for the past 12 years. He has had the pleasure of working with artists ranging from Lil Wayne to Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez and 2Chainz. Josh is a full-time student at George Washington University. He also enjoys working with less fortunate children and teaches dance classes at some of the after-school programs in DC and Montgomery County.
